Working in the automotive industry requires careful consideration, fast implementation and painstaking attention to quality and details. The HR team at Toyota Boshoku was looking for a robust and reliable tool to manage their HR processes while – at the same time - being able to perform thorough analysis and swift reaction to changing conditions. The HR team set out a journey to find the perfect solution to shape their Talent Management processes.
Digital HR Transformation
A successful implementation starts with a profound assessment of the current HR practices & workflows. In this way you quickly identify optimisation opportunities, priority areas and quick wins in line with your organization’s people strategy and objectives. Toyota Boshoku decided to expand the scope of the project and review & redesign different talent processes. ‘Goals & Performance’ remained the top priority, followed by Succession Management and Recruiting Management. Starting from the Emeritis’ best practice solutions, and by applying a pragmatic approach, Toyota Boshoku was able to shift their focus from a ‘solution definition’- track to an ‘enable the business’ one. In this way, the project lead times and costs were significantly reduced, while the intentional end-result remains.
Building a solid foundation
A strong core HR system is key to install successful talent processes. It appeared that no solution was in place to maintain and manage all personnel data from the 5 different sites (= scope for Phase I). Therefore, Toyota Boshoku decided to start with the basics and build from there. Beginning of January, the implementation of Employee Central kicked off and now the system is up and running for HR. The general go-live took place in September which gave HR enough time to prepare the tool and provide the necessary training material.
The HR team is really satisfied with the functionalities of Employee Central. Position Management is included in Employee Central which gives them a clear view on the entire organization and will enhance the efficiency of the implementation of the talent modules.
Combining robust & flexible
Toyota Boshoku wanted to reap the benefits of a world-class HR solution but delivered fast and at an affordable cost. By combining a rapid deployment solution for the talent processes with a classic set up for core HR, they have the best of both worlds. In less than 6 months both their core HR system and talent modules will be up and running.
We’re excited about the future as Toyota Boshoku aims for a broader implementation of SuccessFactors in phase II.
